This 4D3N Archaeological Study Tour Bandung and Bogor shall explore some historical sites with amazing panorama and scenery in Indonesia. The Group shall visit among others Botanical Garden and Zoology Museum and Megalithic Site of Padang Mountain in Bogor Region. Then the Group continues to visit Stone Garden Geo park and Pawon Cave in Bandung Region.
By joining this Archaeological Study Tour Bandung, we believe that students/participants shall gain many advantages. While, visiting Bogor Botanical Garden, the foremost botanical garden in Indonesia, you shall learn thousands plantation live in Indonesia. Sir Stamford Raffles established the Garden since 1817. On the other hand, The Largest Zoology Museum in the Southeast Asia has replicas of more than 15,000 species/specimens live in Indonesia. Moreover, Stone Garden Geo park is a beautiful ancient stone park at the peak of a hill. The Researches found the archaeology site of Stone Garden in 2014 and then become one of famous tourists destination. Then, the Group shall visit Pawon Cave where fossils and artifacts from ancient time were found. Here, the Group could learn on civilization of Ancient People.
Itinerary – Archaeological Study Tour
Day 1 – Archaeological Study Tour Bogor – Visiting Botanical Garden and Zoology Museum
The Group could choose to stay at hotel in Jakarta or Bogor. We start the journey in the morning, firstly by visiting Bogor Botanical Garden. Bogor Botanical Garden was established in 1817 covers 87 Ha (210 acres) land area as center of plantation conservation. Here, the group shall study plantations categorized in some theme parks. There are the Mexican Garden, Bamboo Park, Herbs Garden, the Orchid House, Giant Lily Ponds and others. You may see trees and species which have lived in the garden more than 100 years. The plants themselves are originated from many countries in the world. The group could rent bikes to go around the garden.
Then, the Group continue to visit Zoology Museum. We could see thousand replicas of persevered faunas lived in Indonesia. Museum collection includes 15,000 species of insects, 30,000 species/specimens of mammals, 30,000 species/specimens of poultry, 20,000 species/speciemens of reptile and amphibian and many others. The Group shall overnight at Bogor to continue the trip tomorrow morning to Cianjur area.
Day 2 – Archaeological Study Tour Bandung – Megalithic Structure at Padang Mountain
The second day of the Archaeological Study Tour Bandung and Bogor, the Group shall visit Padang Mountain. The Mountain located in a village in Cianjur District, West Java. In 1914, the Dutch Colonial Government has conducted the first archaeological survey at Padang Mountain. The second survey occurred in 1947 carried out by the Australian National University. The researches to reveal the mystery of the stepped pyramid at Padang Mountain are still carrying out until today. It is a man-made pyramid contains of several layers which is buried under the Padang Mountain. Somehow, investigations are still going on to discover civilization which ever existed in this area. Some claimed that the materials related to Paleolithic Age (22,000 – 9,500 BC). Then, the group shall overnight at Bandung/Cianjur or Lembang area to continue the trip tomorrow morning to Stone Garden Geopark.
Day 3 – Archaeological Study Tour Bandung – Stone Garden National Geopark
Stone Garden Geo park is an archaeological site located in Masigit Mountain Village, the District of Cipatat, West Bandung. It is a hill surrounded by the 27-million year old stone hill, green grass and silhouette of Tangkuban Perahu Mountain in a far. It offers a wonderful natural scenery. Some people equate it with the Chirstmas Island, Australia. Here, the group shall learn the story of the geopark and researches carried out to discover the park.
Then, near to Stone Garden Geopark, the Group could explore another archeological site called as Pawon Cave. Experts found the ancient human skeleton, curtural relics from Pre-Neolithic Age. They found such as stone bracelet, shaved, grindstones and many others. Here, the Group shall learn the civilization and history of People from the ancient time.
The Group could spend a night in Bandung City or continue the trip to Jakarta. For international travelers (Ex: Kuala Lumpur, etc), some international flights are available from Husein Sastranegara Airport at Bandung City. Alternatively, the Group shall come back to Jakarta to continue the trip back to their own State.
Day 4 Home
The last day of our Archaeological Study Tour Bandung. Depend on your flight schedule, the Group may have some hours left before the departure. So, after breakfast, the Group could do city sightseeing whether at Bandung or Jakarta. In Bandung, the Group could visit some historical site such as Satay House (Gedung Sate) and Asia Africal Street. While in Jakarta, the Group could visit National Monument (Monas), Cathedral and the Great Mosque.
