Javanese communities have their own calendar, the Javanese calendar, created by Sultan Agung, who was one of the powerful kings on Java island in the 17th century. The calendar was created by combining Islamic and Hindu calendar system. Until nowadays, the local Javanese communities still use the calendar system to determine the date for special cultural and religious events.

Yogyakarta Prambanan Tour: About Topo Bisu Mubeng Beteng Ritual

The communities, particularly in Yogyakarta, usually celebrate the Javanese new year eve through “Topo Bisu Mubeng Beteng” ritual. While “Topo” menas pray, “Bisu” means being silent without a word.

Furthermore, “Mubeng” means walking around the Yogyakarta palace’s fort of defense. To conclude, “Topo Bisu Mubeng Beteng” means a way of praying done with a wordless conscience without any word spoken during the prayer.

While praying, ones must walk about 4KM of the palace area as a representation of their sincerity in praying. This tradition did not come literally from the palace, yet it was started by the palace servants. The local communities found the good message about this tradition and started to do it as a common tradition. Yogyakarta Prambanan Tour: The Overview of the Package

By booking the Yogyakarta Prambanan Tour, not only will you attend the Topo Bisung Mubeng Betel ritual at the Yogyakarta Palace, you will also explore the amazing Prambanan Temple which is the masterpiece of Hindu culture of the tenth century. You will explore the amazing architecture of the temple with 47 meters height.

Besides exploring Prambanan temple, you will also explore the Plaosan temple by riding “Andong”, the traditional horse-drawn carriage. Visiting both Plaosan and Prambanan temple are activities on the first day prior to joining the Topo Bisu Mubeng Beteng ceremony.

On the 2nd day, you will enjoy the cycling tour to explore the local tourism villages including to visit some local handicraft workshop. Afterward, you will visit Kota Gede where you will explore the historical value of first Palace & Mosque in Yogyakarta). From Kota Gede, you will be visiting Parangtritis beach to catch up the beautiful sunset prior going back to the hotel.

On the 3rd day, you may need to wake up earlier as we will take you to enjoy the wonderful sunset at Setumbu Hill with Borobudur temple as the background. From the temple, we will take you to explore Mount Merapi using a four wheel off-car prior to transfer you to the airport.
