Tulamben is a very famous snorkeling site in Bali, thanks to the US Liberty shipwreck. The military cargo ship was torpedoed by Japan submarine during WW II and beached on the coast of Tulamben. During the eruption of Mount Agung in 1963, the shipwreck slipped to the sea and became a place of the corals and become a habitat for many fishes and other sea creatures. Although the shipwreck slipped into 30 meters below the sea level, some of its high points are reaching up to 7 meters below the sea surface.
